I fault Trump for not taking China to the Wall. 50% - 100% tarriffs. Ban on Federal Employee retirement funds invested in Chinese companies. Ban Hauiwai and ZTE outright. Force all listed China symbols on every American exchange to conform with GAAP accounting standards (no listed Chinese corp undergoes audited financial statements .....like every other G20 country, including America....they just cook their books, say "trust us"). Remove the US Dollars. China has a US dollar problem. Take them to the fucking wall. Then negotiate a trade deal favorable to US interests.

Anyway. lets see.

50% tariffs can still happen and decoupling the US economy from China which would permanently, destroy the Chinese economy. This phase 1 of US-China trade agreement is merely a baby step. Most outstanding issues are the more important issues for the US. Transfer of technology and opening the Chinese economy to US companies is another. I have urged President Donald Trump to not lift all the tariffs on the Chinese goods if they do not get serious about trade negotiations. They have been talking over 18 months with the US trade negotiators and all the Chinese have agreed to is these baby steps. We are a long way from getting a fair trade deal. Some have suggested that the Chinese buying more farm goods including, pork is more a result of the Chinese needing more pork because of the swine flu which has infested Chinese hogs. Chinese still have to eat. That is why they are buying US farm goods.
