As far as I can tell, Bitsream has an agenda against the USA, it's
people, it's women, and it's leaders. Everything to do with America.
He thinks the US is turning into a fascist state. I just thought it
ironic since he is from Italy (as far as I can tell) which on Wikipedia
claims to be the founding country of Fascism. Maybe this is where
he gets the erroneous idea that America is turning fascist.
No stereotypes.
Bitstream is completely PO'd at me so I have him on ignore so I
don't have to hear him rant and rave and call me names anymore.

i live in europe and worked in us for a couple of years and my impression is that the us is clearly falling apart in many aspects of its social environment. the media, the opinion making, the law system, the democracy itself, are increasingly disrupting us cohesion. at least thats i what i have found out after talking with many americans that felt that way. and as a foreigner i experienced some of those factors while living there. the most intriguing aspect of this is the constant paranoya the us citizens live in. much of it is pumped through national television that acts as some sort of passive orwellian big brother assuring everybody is programmed to to behave accordingly.

As pertaining to this thread, although Italian fascism was of course bad and inhuman, I still sometimes feel it would never really have stuck with the Italians. Fascism was perfected by the Germans, as everything is perfected by them. I think even Mussolini was not very happy with Hitler, but maybe because he dressed badly.
The Itialians adhere more to family values and traditions, and still do(!), which I think is a fundamental obstacle for any totalitarian regime to get hold.

mussolini always appeared like a joke to me, though
i never checked him out as much as i tried it with the
mustache guy. you might be right on the italian
fascism as such. the people there are reluctant to
take orders by their very nature except from mama,
patrone and bambina. but everybody a little further
away is punished by contempt.
