A little over a month is nowhere near enough time to evaluate the place, their training program and the profitability of their traders, let alone make such strong statements about success at SMB.

I will agree that it is very obvious that SMB puts a ton more effort into their new guys and the whole group in general as opposed to your average Sub LLC prop. However, the change of their business model toward the $5k-$10k training fees clearly shows that they do not stand behind their training program and strategies like they used to.

in that short span of 1.5 months i was able to see the obvious comraderie that they had for each other... ive been to quite a few prop shops and none came even close to the loyalty and open minded atmosphere they possessed.... they freely were exchanging ideas throughout the day and were led by spence and bella into constant improvement at all times... bella could be very strict and seem unkind but only because they feel very proud of what they have and want others to take it seriously... ive heard of people getting fired their first week due to falling asleep at the "wheel"...

although i didnt like how i had to pay 10K... all prop shops that take in newbies seem to charge some kind of fee... unless its a GS or SAC... but unlike others, they take a very serious approach to the training classess, lecture, homework etc... all of which can take some time and on top of that...virtually all newbies lose money in the beginning... i dont see how they could survive with out collecting some kind of good faith money due to the fact they they invest so much time and energy into sharing everything they know and have accumulated over the 20 plus years experience...

keep in mind i left under somewhat bad terms and have no incentive to lie... i prolly couldnt work there again even if i wanted to... even remotely... they dont give 2nd chances to people that couldnt fully maximize the learning materials the first time around regardless of whether the newb was lazy or tired from commute or was just simply swallowed up with financial obligations and had to have 2nd job... this is not the kind of job where you can have a life or time consuming responsibilities especially in the firs 6 months... youre expected to get in way earlier than others about 7am (try commuting from NJ) and also to not leave until at least 7pm. Their system or way of doing things was almost similar to the military in that it forces the group to cohesively tighten together and create an amicable workgroup where everyone is in constant communication with each other during the tradin hours...

having such a disciplined atmosphere becomes so essential to the success of their model that it soon becomes an unspoken rule for everyone band together...so much so that ive never seen such a group of employees that big form and create a "clique"... they would hang out together, goto bars together... vacation together...

trust me, if you felt the atmosphere they had... you couldnt trade or even live without it... along with the daily meetings, morning and afternoon, also individual sessions where everyone would critique one persons choice of trading hour they may have had which they would record via USB drive(which ive never seen other props do)....they keep you on your toes where you need to be ... go there and make your own decision first before listening to the other negative posts that are on here

Look man, I been around the block, and I am telling you from experience that you have nowhere near enough time to make a judgment about success at SMB from 1.5 months. Your observations on comraderie & the focus by the group leaders is unnecessary, it is obvious that SMB puts in significant work into their group & trainees. I've been in both environments, I know what you are talking about.

If you paid $10k for training aka risk deposit, you are not an EMPLOYEE. You are a client. If SMB requires that you show up for these meetings, give in extra time, etc... that is plain BS. I'm very much aware of putting in the work and learning, but the bottom line is that they are not paying your bills, you are.

If you are being fully backed by SMB, then you have to follow their rules. Especially if they pay you a draw. But that does not sound like your situation, nor most of those who post on the matter.

As for the guys that got fired for falling asleep, I just hope they did not pay a training fee. As for your $10k training fee, well, you ripped yourself off by not at least making sure you either trade through the $10k on a net basis or asking for a partial refund.

Sounds like a shop looking for very weak people who they can take money from and control...

Listen, for 15,000 you can come over to my place whenever you want, relax, trade for a few hours, and even watch sports.

Or pay me 5,000, let me give you a number of guilt trips and then make you make money for me...then i send you home broke.

i hate to repeat this for the billionth time...

Funny, if I had those restrictions on me what I started out, I would have never lasted long enough to become profitable.

P.S. Military takes care of your basic needs and pays you.

IF you cannot muster 5K something is wrong.

Work at a Fast Food restaurant flipping burgers for a while and save up.

A few semesters of college runs more than 5K and most of it is spent reading literature and shit like that.


So 5K is not that big of a deal.

They reach this trough destruction of the familly cell... By isolating individual and making them live in fear they lose ( without any offence ) the old saying... I will work for you only if you pay me... the G2 version was only if you pay better that the other guy...
