Really? I always imagined the .32 auto was a bit of a dud cartridge-still, when a bullet decides to do something different for a change, good luck replicating the shot.

Put a few rounds through a colt navy .44 black powder replica, those things are great fun to shoot, darn messy to clean though. I wonder how the respective "knockdown power" of an all lead ball, (even at the lower velocities) stacks up to modern type ammo?

You'll need a 9mm (if you can afford it, a .40S&W and/or .45ACP would be a good addition, along with a .357 Revolver), at minimum, and a 12 gauge shotgun (Mossberg, preferably), along with either an AK or AR, and a .22LR (CZ, Browning or Ruger), along with plenty of ammunition and weapon cleaning supplies.

The M14 is a badass choice, that is still in use today by operators today (being used by SEAL and Marine Recon units after specific request), because of amazing reliability in a fantastic caliber.
It's the better choice than the AR platform/caliber for serious SHTF scenarios.
Just make sure you get one with fiberglass rather than wood furniture, as in humid climates, that was one of its only weaknesses.

I have twenty usgi mags for each weapon & over 10k rounds of British surplus .308 I bought back in 2001 for 160/1000 round can.
If things get bad I am not going to worry too much about it. I've got a two year supply of long term storage food stashed away, a solar water well pump & live in a rural area. I have chickens in the back yard & some acreage I am repairing fences on for a few cattle next year.
