I was hoping the wrestling would be more Graeco than Roman.
I bought a new one about 5 yrs ago, but have never shot it. It seems high quality...made by American Derringer Corp....cost about $300. On the rare occasion that I carry a handgun, it is very easy to put my S&W airweight hammerless 5 shot .38 revolver in my pants pocket.
The derringer is a little on the heavy side, but is a very powerful weapon esp. with 00 buckshot.....however, these days I feel better having more than 2 shots in my weapon. Stosh

I wouldn't be afraid to fire the derringer.....mainly because it is all steel.....heavy and strong, positive locking. But it would only be accurate at very short range in the hands of an amateur like me. Of course, with the shot shell you wouldn't need to be quite so accurate. It is easy to hide but heavy in the pocket. Stosh

I've actually been within maybe 3-4 feet of a target with a derringer and missed! lol
I use to carry an hk usp .45C back in the day. Love that gun. But switched a few years back to a glock 19 with the trigger pull brought down to 4 lbs, trijicons, and the recoil pin is custom. Me and some friends use to shoot every single weekend out on my buddy's 30 acres and i can tell ya, that Glock will put 10 rounds in the ten ring at 21 feet time after time! It's a gem

The blast and damage at a few feet would be truly awesome no doubt, I just wonder how that works on the firing end of it.
Actually, it never occurred to me, that derringer pistols might be made a tad heavier than an equivalent revolver.
Get thee to a range young man, and shoot it! And report back.
