And that may be part of the problem -- everyone is used to using the same old same old that they stick with what looks like to have been designed when the first version of windows came out.

Yes, we have lots of options for purely functional. I'm just wondering if there is something that is functional *AND* Crisp, Clean, Fast, Modern and Aesthetically Pleasing to look at.

I appreciate the challenge in such things (it takes a while to build a good platform and make sure it works, to rebuild it ever 5-10 years would be expensive). But I thought I would ask to see if anyone knows of one.

Pretty is relative. For example most people/defaults use dark background for charts, I hate those and always change them to light colors.
 
I find the dark background of SILEXX is easier on my eyes, but yes, it is a personal preference which is why they also offer a white background. No, I don't work for them.

Slightly off-topic, but I've been looking into how I can make charts the most friendly for my eyes recently. I stumbled upon some research saying that lighter colors actually are better than black.

In fact, I think contrast was what was seemingly most vital. I.e., if you're in a light room, a lighter screen is better.

So, currently using a grey/light grey.
