As far as I see it the both suck and they are both young na d have great things ahead of them and dirty pasts. But let who among you who is innocent cast the first stone.
This is america and this is the country that is made up of heroes and villians. Our Guys in the white house are heroes to us all.

If not for the Electoral College system and, as you advocate, the President were chosen by a simple majority handcount, then the election could be won within a handful of states - CA, FL, TX, NY, MI, and IL. CA holds a fifth of the US population alone.
The entire remainder of the country, owing to their lower per-unit-area populations, could be completely ignored by cantidates and campaigns. Would you consider that to be better for "democracy"?
Not coincidentally, these states (except TX?) all went to Gore in the 2000 elections, and the loudest voices calling for repeal of the Electoral College system were "hillary" and Chuck Schumer, both Democrats and both from NY.
This is not an endorsement for either party, but for a fair voting system that is maximally inclusive...
The majority in numbers has to be balanced so there is equalk representation. Take for example if we went by numbers alone. NYC would dictate all policies. And what a pretty picture that would be. It would be a crime to recreate a new system that truly did not work. Things went wrong in this election we all know however we are not at civil war because we have a system that identifies a addresses the problem.
