Sleepy Joe created a disaster . Millions of job openings nobody will work

if you have to cross a desert or an ocean in the extreme heat and the extreme cold while watching some of your comrades die, you will have an intense work ethic. Hundreds of years of this is what defines the American spirit and what made America the greatest nation on earth. It’s sad to see nativist willing to give that up because they are lazy and want to live off the sweat of their forefathers.

So true. Empires come, empires go. The U.S. is definitely in its waning stage. Almost like what they say about families over time - the 1st generation makes the money, the 2nd retains it, the 3rd loses it. Guess what we are doing by the 8th or 9th or whatever? :)

Three generations from short sleeves to short sleeves.

I expect to see far more automation in stores over the next few years. Self-checkout was a good start, but I expect to see automated floor cleaners and shelf-restockers.

I still tend to go to the clerks at check out, usually about 98% of the time......im sure those jobs will be completely eliminated in the next decade, as for chef restocked, that will take another set amount of years as well. The average paying job in those circumstances only pays a tad over minimum wage, but in sure they will be going away by the time minimum wage finally gets to $15 an hour in the years ahead.

The 9th gen are gig drivers who stuff Noxzema cans full of amyl nitrate and blow their disability lump sum on GME shorts.

Yes, but it has such a large head start that most Americans don't realize it. They believe that if they can just keep the undocumented Central Americans out, and keep a lid on China, the USA will retain its world dominant position forever. The truth is that in many important areas, the USA is falling badly behind. Its internet speeds are the worst of any developed country; and unless you are wealthy or have a job with fully paid health insurance, healthcare is the worst of any developed country. And don't get me started on the metric system -- Myanmar, Liberia and the USA, the only countries still not using the metric system.

I can't believe how much fuss you Americans make over overdue stimulus; Canada set up programs last March/April involving more money per resident and there was no complaining from anyone really. We all know once the Covid is gone the money can be repaid eventually and the important thing was to keep people alive and try to prevent businesses going under.

If you look at out national debt, job recovery, bankruptcies, earnings reports, Covid infections/deaths, our approach worked out better then the US approach. Not perfect but the fact there were no delays on financial help probably kept more people and businesses alive.

Blaming Biden for any of this is a bit of a joke the stimulus should have passed before the election and the inevitable second wave of Covid.
