Six Latest Polls Show Voters Are Blaming Trump for the Government Shutdown

Trump should have stepped up from the beginning and stated consistently that "I am responsible for the shutdown and the security of our country is not negotiable". If he did this he would have been viewed as rightfully standing up and having a clear unambiguous stand on the issue while demanding to know if the Democrats hated our citizens or not. His statement should have been "Yes, I am responsible for the shutdown and the Democrats are responsible for the lack of in our country". In this case the two survey questions in the polls would read - 1) Who is responsible for the shutdown? A: Trump 2) Who is responsible for the lack of security in our county? A: The Democrats

No right wing spin would get the people to think democrats are to blame for this.Bills have passed both houses to fund the government. Its so simple even a 10 year old can understand.

As mentioned before, Trump is obviously responsible for the shutdown. I pray the shutdown continues until either the Democrats agree to the wall or the Federal Government with its many oversized and expensive programs shrinks. If we can only have one or the other, I would see a much smaller Federal budget over a wall.

Every time republicans get blamed for a government shutdown, they gain seats in the next election. Its a net positive.

I have not noticed a single change in my daily life since the government shutdown. I think most people are in the same boat. Why are we pretending the world came to an end?

Or perhaps the most recent and the one most appropriately focused, if you care about elections...

The 3 latest polls oppose a wall by 55 % and 56%. Even more oppose shutting the government down over it.

Aggregate is best when it comes to elections and polling athough a poll like Rasmussen can distort it.
