Site Problems this Morning.

Quote from BSAM:

On another front, I think you should make a special forum where only people who registered before the year 2000 get to post.:p :D :p

Well that would basically be a forum with two members.... me and you :D

*ahem* *cough cough*

But really, looking forward to the moderated forum.

So, Baron how is transition coming around? Will we see a new look of ET next weekend or do we need to wait more?

It's gonna be a surprise.
You're just gonna have to wait, brother GM.
Kinda like Christmas morning.

Baron

can you please bring back the chatroom ?

The chat room was responsible for about 80% of the daily problems we had to do deal with, so there isn't much chance of it coming back. And considering it brought in zero revenue, we weren't shedding any tears letting it go.

I am going to attempt the migration again this weekend, which means it would go live Monday morning.

I know many ET members hang out on the IRC network chat rooms. Some in the #ActiveTraders room on the Financialchat server and others in #daytraders on the Othernet server.

Yet, I think most ET members are on stocktwits.

After thinking about this, I would like to alter the statement above. What I was trying to communicate is that there isn't much chance of the chat room coming back in the format it was running in before. Once I get these message boards updated and straightened out, we can brainstorm about how to bring the chat back in a way that will eliminate some of the problems we were having on a daily basis back in the day. So for example, perhaps the invitation-only model or some other type of constraint might be what's necessary to keep the chat room tight and free of daily troublemakers disrupting things for everybody to witness in real-time. All I know is that chat is a different animal altogether and needs to be treated as such.
