*Simulated* Trader P/L 2007

after 4 weeks of sim trading I'm happy that at least my pnl curve isn't going down in a straight line.

I'm still in the process of finding rules that guide my trading. Right now I'm working on spotting my setups in realtime. Sometimes I watch price action for 6 hours and can't find a trade but when reviewing the day find a least 1 or 2 setups that would have fit my entry criteria.

Changes that I made to my trading the last 4 weeks were switching from 1 to 5 minute chart as my basic trading chart and taking of all indicators of my charts. I only look at price and volume now using price levels and patterns to enter a trade.

I am very happy that this thread is becoming a platform for testing / harnessing real time trading strategies and is helping people become better in what they plan to do.

One thing everybody should remember is "Trade sim as real as possible, assuming that this is your real account and have limited money to fund it, so be very realistic when multiplying contracts".

I trade with 1 contract NQ and if I want to pyramid with one more entry then I buy 1 more contract, limiting to max 2 contracts open in one direction my account increases I will think of increasing contracts appropriately. I assume that my acct# is $6000. As this is the amount I have already pumped in my real account for future use. This is just my way of trading.

Rules are different for every trader.

Up $330 for the wk on the ES.

I"m using Trader28's Simple Profitable Method with a 5min MACD for entries, and a 10min MACD just to watch the trend. I also have the S&P 500 on 10min with an MACD, and I'm looking at $TRIN just for fun.
When I learn to HANG IN THERE on my trades and take more $$ off the table, I'll feel more confident.

Not bad for part time I guess.

after 7 round trips of 1 contract each. Its like more of a commission loss. Usually I do less traders.

My goal :
kinda breakeven on bad days
make money on good days.

I was up $65, then I got goofy and traded CHOP.
sigh
Today was a scratch day.
OH well, I'll learn.
I'm UP overall for the past 2 wks tho.:D
