Simple Profitable Method

The only real difference from the initial post was finding the appropriate MA's to replicate Kwikpops autostop and tightstop indicators (9 period simple MA with 2+ offset and the 3 period simple MA 2+ offset)

3SMA+2 is used for re-entry in a good trend

thx a bunch, Mkultra...I've been wading thru the pages looking for the reference. Not a kwikpop user and never looked into it, but I like to at least know the origins of a "system" when there is one. That said, tweaking is fine by me, just as long as I know what was tweaked so I'm on the same page as trader28.

I'm assuming that as the MACD is standard off-the-shelf, it is exponential based on close.

Are both the 25sma and 3sma based on close also? That said, I recall reading somewhere on the thread that one of the MAs was based on H+L/2????

Finally, are *both* the 25sma and 3sma offset or only the 3sma?

JACK,

Here is what I think we should do!!!

I think we should concentrate on how to draw "channels" and
get this show on the road...

For example, I read your "Channels For Building Wealth V2.2"
and thought it was very good and very educational.

What about icebergs and rockets and making the turns???

Jack... please continue to teach us the secrets of trading!!!

Thanks.

[. . .] but this thread isn't about Jack, it's your thread and I'm glad you're back, even in the "Trader28Lite" version.

Since page 1 it looks like you've made a few changes. Could you restate the bare bones again? I've been playing around with Ensign to template it and would like to update the Page 1 version I've got.

What happened to the thread? I got up to page 70 and turned to see how everything was working out today, yet everything has changed entirely.

Thread was hijacked by Jack...

Quote from WarEagle:

its not simple any longer. [. . .] your methods [. . . ] are not simple. I don't mean to speak for T28, but the point of this thread is that you don't need all of that other stuff to trade profitably. [. . .] If they want something like that, I am sure they can find out all they need to know on your journals.

Is there a moderator on this thread? If so, I suggest that he split it into two separate threads: First, the Simple Profitable Method, and second, Jack Hershey's ideas as they relate to the SPM. They really are two completely separate methods.

To each his own. The beauty of trading is that there are many different ways of making money and we don't all have to agree or use the same methods. Each person trying to proselytize interferes with those who are simply offering ideas to share. That's the purpose of separate threads.

When the thread is so far off-topic that the original idea has to be restated (I agree; it does), some supervision is necessary.

Or perhaps just a new thread limited to only the concise, simple Simple Profitable Method? ;-) Maybe just restate The Bare-Bones-Naked Simple Profitable Method (and then close that new thread)?

Trader28 has been so generous and patient, he and all of us are entitled to be able to focus on one method at a time.

The 25SMA is not offset but I do prefer the 9SMA+2 over the 25SMA for early entry and the 3SMA+2 is great for re-entry

All based on close

One need look no further than the ET chat logs to find where I have stated I have seen Jack take extremely large numbers of points out of the ES Market. As to the exact date, look to the June or July FOMC dates - I do not recall which at present. However, no need to track the success or failure of either Mr. Hershey or myself. One can view the transference process at work in this post and many others of similar content within both of my Journals. While the author of the post above still trades on a simulator (and plans to move to one contract on Sunday Night / Monday), he does understand one basic truism:

The FTT (Failure to Traverse) represents a fundamental process in all markets - across any time frame (provided sufficient liquidity exists).

Good Trading to you all.

So just start another thread.

Then you ask jack & spyder all the noobish questions you want to your heart's desire.

JJ

P.S. Believe it or not, simplier is better.

You guy's are right!!!

Jack's method of trading is different than Trader28's.

At first I though we could just add the Stochastic indicator
to the Macd indicator, tweak the setting's a little bit and we would
be off to the races.

Silly me!!!

I can see that Jack's method is going to be substantially different.

With that in mind. I also believe that we should start a different
post with Jack's method's.

I don't want to mess up what T28 has cheerfully shared with
us. And, I don't want to mess up any new traders with a
different more complicated system.

Thanks

Well good luck snarly!

While you're looking at one of the most complicated methods for scalping that I've ever seen, be sure to keep a chart on your screen the simple method, with the two time frames as initially described by T28.

When it clicks, it's gonna be like a light-bulb going off.
