How do you use the bollys with the MAC snarls?
Metastock default settings are 2 period SMA with 2 standard deviations
That should be 20 period SMA with 2 standard deviations above

Check out page 158. The Bollinger Bands.
I use the settings that you suggested 8 or 9 (instead of 20)
and played around with the s/d. And came up with 1.76.
So on Omnitrader the settings are 8 or 9 with a s/d of 1.76.
Basically your settings. Then I matched up the macd settings of 9-12-26. It looks just like your 8 or 9 sma early crossing (on the price bars) with the macd zero line crossings.
I watched it all day thursday and friday and it was like "right there". The entries are just like your 8 or 9 sma early entry. And the exits are when the bars start bouncing on/or near the bollinger bars. (read up on bollinger bands)
Trader28...You have given us so many good ideas and your system. I am only trying to repay you a little for all your help.
Try adding bollinger bands to your system, watch it for awhile
and let us know what you think!
The bottom line is we all want to make money. And we all want to watch our system and feel very comfortable with it and know it inside and out.

I've read a bunch of posts here on ET about bollinger bands.
Some of these people I respect (never met them but I read what they say). Anyway, there seems to be quite a few people here that feel if their was a" holy grail" of trading that bollinger bands would be it.
Bollinger bands are not perfect but worth watching. When I combined them with your macd system I was amazed at how clear the whole trade became.
I was looking for a clean entry/exit and that is what I came up with. And I started watching it and said this has potential.
So I figured if you and others started using your system with bollinger bands and we all fined tuned the whole thing we might have ourselves an outstanding simple trading system....One could only hope!

Been reading this thread, very useful stuff.
Couple of questions:
1. Has anyone been trading this type of system using longer timeframes ? Eg maybe trading off the 5, 10 or 15 min chart ? I'm the type of trader who likes to make a max of 4 trades per day.
2. For anyone trading the short (2 min) term timeframes, I'd be very interested to see some stats such as:
win/loss %
Profit:loss ratio.
Max win (points)
Max loss (points)
Min trade duration.
Max trade duration.
