If you like to trade news volatility, consider using Tick charts rather than the usual time charts. The Tick chart many times will smooth out the volatility.

See the FOMC Announcement example attached.

Amen to that. Nice smooth morning. Havent looked at ER2 yet but 3 nice trades in YM. Entry and stops are easy but I am still working on my exits. Today instead of fixed targets I am using a close above the sma to exit. Seems to work about as good as any.
 
BB, What time do you begin your daily chart? I'm papertrading the YM also. Do you use a 24 hour chart? I've been starting my chart at 9:30 eastern to coincide with the equity markets, but I think that's throwing off my MACD indicator.

At what time did you get the MACD ZLC down?

You can see that I am basically trading flags which is what I have been doing all along but the macd helps me quite a bit as I have had a bad habit of early entries and impulse trades and this little system keeps me in line. This time frame also seems to work very well for me. All in all, a nice fit for me.
 
Bearblelly , I'm glad to hear its working out for you ! Seems to be key for each individual to find there own off others help maybe, that works best " for them " . like you doing here .
