trader28,

you mention the 3SMA with 2 horizontal shifts - the SMA is clear but what are the horizontal shifts you refer to?

secondly, have you ever tried using the core of this method on longer time frames? would be interesting to see how it performs when the 2min chart is set to 60min, 240min, daily candles.

all the best,

Horizontal shift is a parameter you can adjust in a Moving Average

I'm sure it works on longer timeframes but trading the emini's 2min seems the sweet spot

2min candles with 25 period simple moving average and 3 period simple moving average with 2 horizontal shifts

standard macd 26/12/9 with zero line
T28,

Can you please clarify something for me?

Am I correct to I assume your basic method still uses the 9 SMA to time the entry/exit?

How are these settings above used in conjunction with the 9 SMA, if at all?

Thanks

I suggested 9 SMA as it was a good compromise between the two Kwikpop indicators I use

But the 25 SMA and the 3 SMA (2 offset) are almost identical if you really want to replicate my chart

The 25 SMA will let you know when you are likely to punch through the Zero Line and give you a heads up on trend

The 3 SMA can fine tune your entry and exits
