I certainly missed a terrific trade while changing my charts, oh, well.
When you folks hit your target and got out, did you re-enter later in the run?
 
I just got the two points. (ES) It is aggravating to watch it move on down without you but you have to track the trades for awhile and see how many times it was better to settle for the two points to get a clear picture. I have found that over the long run I do better just taking the two points and it is easier on the nerves. I have also found that shorting near the lows is hazardous so I do not reenter. Just one way of doing things. Im sure others will disagree. I am not trading the system per se. Just tracking it but most of the good entries it indicates are trade that I would normally take anyhow.
 
Just for those that dont know when there is an extreme move such as this the MACD becomes almost useless until it swings back the other way

With moves like this you can keep re entering on pullbacks until it fails but you will be relying on your marketcraft and feel for the move, the MACD wont be much of a guide at extremes

Although it doesn't quite achieve what i'm after, i'll explain a little better;

Like trader28, i'm looking to adjust the charts to start my futures quotes from around 08:30 EST, and to stop them at 16:00 EST.

Basically i'm trying to remove all the low volume trading quotes, as this affects the MACD signals.
 
Ok, i've got a fix for that problem now.

This is the answer I got from Quotetracker support for anyone else who needs it for future reference;

"QT assigns a timeframe for the chart based on the site/symbol from one of the defined timeframes in the Timeframes list. This is not a settings screen and the system defined timeframes can not be edited (all entries will be grayed out). Here you can create your own.

However, each symbol chart can have it's own timeframe assigned (overriding the assigned system timeframe) by either selecting another predefined system or user added timeframe. This is done directly on a chart using the timeframe (clock) icon button from the chart auto-hide toolbar (hover your mouse in the top left corner to reveal the toolbar). For example, if you have a Futures chart that the system assigned a timeframe to but you only want to see the standard US daily market times on the chart, select US Equities or CME MID reg. hours timeframe and set to not show pre/after aftermarket from the chart toolbar. "
