the BP fiasco should drive things for awhile.....

there will be heads rolling over letting the corrosion problem get out of hand....

BP says months to fix it.....
 
If it going to correct much , (remember, i only look at eod) its going to do so around these levels i think.
Maybe a few days away, it depends.
 
Effective close of business on Monday Aug 21 the eCBOT has substantially reduced (-23%) their margin requirements for Silver. Initial requirement on the full contract reduces from $7020 -> $5400 and on the mini from $1404 -> $1080. Maintenance requirement (overnight) on the full contract reduces from $5200 -> $4000 and on the mini from $1040 -> $800. That's good news and it's about time, as Comex dropped theirs about a month ago and usually the eCBOT follows within a week but they didn't this go 'round. Oh well, better late than never.
 
LOL magna ... well if I had read that posting of yours of known the margins were lower .. maybe I would have been more aggressive in buying the dips this past week

however when I see silver whip around like it did 10 20 30 40 cents in a few minutes or hours .... it gives me pause

BOTS ? in silver ?

sheesh ... I was fighting the BOTS today

seems like they know when I am trying to hedge my mini against my full size and they scamble to make me "pay up"

I need to re read the ECBOT notice about offsetting mini against full size ... to see if this is only allowed during rollover periods
on the lead month traded
