ha ha ha ...
made $500 - $1000 on my "junk silver coin collection ...
but lost close to this amount daytrading silver futures

but cannot complain ... its been a very good week for my acct

( nice to see spot silver back above $16.00 )

Cup-and-handle breakout coming. Silver will fly to $19 soon, as gold heads for $1000.

Similar pattern, but more clear, in palladium. Platinum is flying already.
 
seems to have been some profit taking this am in european trade leading up to the NY opening

do not worry ... you are not the first person to
make a bold prediction here on ET

I will be happy if silver can get over $17 first by the end of the week

The problem with forecasting metals is that there are few balanced forecasts out there to base off of. Gold and silverbugs frequently slant everything towards ridiculous movements, making it a waste of time to try to engage in meaningful conversation.

Tin foil hats don't make good traders.
 
What... gold $1000 / silver $19 is bold, even ridiculous?? That's not even a 20% move. I thought that would just be a modest first target.

True gold/silver bugs are calling for $6000/$400.

Who else is bullish on the precious metals nowadays? Apart from those eternal "bugs", I see almost nobody.
 
well ... after finally breaking through $17.00 today

silver dropped back below that round number

a. end of week controlled profit taking in both silver and gold

( it seemed at first to me to be totally nuts in mid morning
but the sellers controlling the order flow today did it in waves
from late am into the late afternoon ... )

hopefully people will assess the PGM complex this weekend
and come in buying sunday night in Asia as opposed to selling to meet margin calls
