i feel sorry for the hybrid owners who paid a premium to buy their car over the past summer when gas was $4. at the time, suvs were selling 15%+ under msrp and cars like the prius were selling at or above msrp.
fast forward to today's world of $1.80 gas. hybrid sales are down 50%, the eco-friendly prius is now selling under msrp as most other cars, and the used prius purchased in summer of 2008 has taken a huge depreciation hit.
i've been saying for years now: hybrids do not make economic sense. why do you think honda stopped making the accord hybrid? it's rare for honda to fail at anything, but they failed here.
