Signs of Ford Collapse

And by the way, Ford doesn't make cars anymore; they simply couldn't compete and instead stuck to their money makers, pick-up trucks and SUVs...none of which sell other than in the US and Canada. It's like watching a factory in Soviet Russia, no one cares what they make as long as labor's working.
Makes sense with their out of fashion brand.

They only make the best selling truck in all of North America? Backbone of the country side. But you won't know that living in the city.

The Ford dealership lots are empty where I live, not due to bottlenecks but because their trucks are in high demand. Probably the most reliable trucks besides the tacoma/Tundra.

On the other hand there is a reason Tesla had to cut cost, who buys a cage with two 2 electric motors and a battery for 60k? A few yuppies. Nobody else. Tesla is way overpriced and only benefitted from some younger consumers whose feelings are aligned with the environment. Now that pretty much every car manufacturer is out with plugin hybrids and EVs, the success story of Tesla is over.

I bet that Tesla will go bankrupt before Ford ever will. Tesla has a product that is now replicated and exceeded by dozens of makers. Ford makes a truck that only 2 other large makers compete with and its still the best selling in the truck segment by a wide margin.

I can see them going out of business in the not so distant future.

When is the last time you heard someone say "I want a Ford". Most likely never even heard the phrase in your life.

Tesla can put the batteries ordered into power wall and megapack with a 45% margin if car demand slows. They are hedged.

Nonsense. Who does this benefit? No state nor province currently has the infrastructure to supply the necessary electricity to power cars on a massive scale or to go electric for heating purposes of homes. It would require massive up scaling and infrastructure investments. Most homes are incapable of powering their own homes with electricity, you cant put enough solar panels on roofs to meet demand. Hence the batteries to store electricity are pointless. I walked through a detailed calculation of home electricity demand and the limits solar panels provide. The technology is not there yet to make solar panels more efficient and there are space restrictions, you can't put more panels on the roof than there is space.

LOL they stuck to their money-makers. How strange for a uhhhh for-profit corporation to do!!!! o_O

Likewise. No one cares in U.S. or Canada what is sold in the rest of the world.

long Tesla is very dangerous now.
I suspect that Ford and GM will be fine in the very long term. However, in the shorter term, the decision to go Lectric will doom them for quite a while. They'll need to get back on the gasoline bandwagon, abandon Lectric and work towards the hydrogen car.

i do not think it will doom them. They all want some electric presence.

TM got in hydrogen ina big way\ but buyers never showed up much, too few stations also.
I like the EV sector not just because F+ GM...... got in a big way, TN/KY.....;
its good for fossil fuels. Takes a lot of fossil fuels to charge batteries + mine the minerals:D:D
Surprized NatGas never caught on for autos like it has in Argentina.
T Boon Pickens sure tried to get that big trend for vehicles
