So the rumor is tens of thousands on non essential government personnel are to be staying home tomorrow. If they're non essential why are they employed at all? Trump saving us money. Winning.

Do you consider the people who Clean the office essential? How about the accountants and secretaries? Are these people essential to tracking the flu?

Most government is support staff that has to do with building maintenance, book keeping, legal, administrative assistance etc and aren’t essential to the core but without them the agencies would fall apart eventually.

People say this sort of thing whenever the government shuts down because they think it’s clever but it’s not.
