I live in Va and florida. I traveled throughout the south east with my college team and every time I was there I was surprised at how well everybody in the south got along.

There was some tension in some cites but such a small amount compared to Northeastern cities.

We're talking about a Constitutional right here, so we can't just say err on the side of caution always. At the least it seems to me that a denied applicant should get speedy judicial review and not be told to wait years for some investigation to conclude.

Classic example of that type of abuse is the No-Fly list.

The anti- gun types and even the uninformed gun right supporters love to get everyones juices going with pointing out that if someone is on a No-Fly list their name should link over to the background check database so it will pop up if the person is trying to buy a firearm.

All sounds good and sane and something that needs to be done. Problem is -if you ever lifted up the hood and looked at the the No-Fly list process it is mysterious and loosey-goosey as hell and once your name is on that list there is no clearly define process for getting off. No notification that you are on it, no notification of right to a hearing, no real notification about how, why or who put you on it or where you would or could go to answers. Even frigging Ted Kennedy went to the airport and found out that he was on the no-fly list and couldnt get any answers. Three weeks later after using his considerable influence in washington- that joe blow does not have- he was able to get Homeland Security to get his name off the list.

So, yeah, I not in any way in favor of having my rights suspended just based on what some bureaucrat alleges is being looked at. Now if you mix some basic due process and disclosure in with it then I can reconsider where it makes sense. But there is no legal standard for what "under investigation" is. Every agency whether it is the IRS or EPA or FDA or whatever gets a massive computer printout every day/week/year of people/companies/circumstances that need more inquiry/checking-out/follow-up. Are they under investigation? We have to keep in mind that just wanting to own a gun in and of itself is evidence of mental illness and criminal intent if the lefty loons get their way in the long run. And as we have seen with Clapper and Brennan types, their databases can arrange to have you under investigation at any time for any reason or no reason at all and have a clerk flag you as under investigation and communicate it to the crime/gun background check database.

Let's see now. Obama. Muslim heritage. Grew up- in part in Muslim country. Unable to explain past trips to Pakistan in earlier years. Known associate with terrorist who bombed the U.S Capitol and other federal facitlities/judges. Obama also worked in the same law office with Bernadine Dohr/sp - the wife of the aforementioned terrorist who was also a conspirator and co-participant in the terrorist activities. So, having said that, perhaps someone can explain to me why Obama was not on the No-Fly List. Nevermind.

So let me ask -- which section of the U.S. has more integrated communities, more integrated churches, more integrated school systems, and the least violence between races over the past three decades.

Oh - that is the U.S. South.

Let's also take a look at government...

Of the 52 African-American members serving in the 115th Congress, 22 hail from the 12 Southern states. Let's move on to economics...

Furthermore, according to BlackDemographics.com, of the top 10 states with high black homeownership, nine were in the South. In Forbes magazine’s 2015 list of the cities where blacks are doing the best economically, Southern cities made up 13 of the 15 on the list.

While we at it why don't we take a look at the States with the highest black/white differential in incarceration rates.
