Should You Consider Trading Weekly Options Expirations?

There was a time when I thought weekly options are great because it's easier to predict the short term than the far future. Then I noticed the short term tends to be riddled with unexpected events that are hard to describe statistically (at least I couldn't), while the longer term tends to follow some statistics to a much higher degree.

interested in this technique in general to see if it fits in with preference for short duration trades.

are any good links around to get up to speed on Trading Weekly Options Expirations?
simulated trading platforms?
info sources
typical setups,
tips, tricks, traps?
examples of good, bad, and ugly trades, telltale signs.
learning curve.
anything at all...is appreciated.
Thx
Unfortunately I don't have any generic advantages to offer.

Q: typical setups? tips, tricks, traps? examples of good, bad, and ugly trades, telltale signs?
