Should You Buy Bitcoin Right Now? Don’t Be Stupid

What determines the appreciation/depreciation of a cryptocurrency's value? Supply and demand?

What determines supply and demand of a cryptocurrency?

There will only ever be 21 million bitcoin. It is deflationary unlike fiat money, the supply of which is endless or inflationary. Some crypto currencies are inflationary. Check before investing.

OK, I think I've worked it out. It's a better non-inflationary alternative to gold, silver etc and that's where it gets its demand from.

Since NONE of us is going to see the time when the creation of Bitcoin stops in 2140 (kind of safe bet), until then the currency is practically inflationary, because more and more is created although on a degressive scale.

Now the creation of a generic crypto is obviously inflationary because you can have as many kind as you want. Look up Dogecoin for example...

Just keeping it real.

Now going back to the my previous post why this current news could be alarming, fandom of Bitcoin might want to revisit a news item from 2014, when a WV Senator asked for Bitcoin to be banned for the exact same reason what happened over the weekend. Now I know what some fan will say and I am too lazy to explain it again, so just watch it unfolding live...

...and that's a key point isn't it, each cryptocurrency will be influenced by different supply and demand factors.

Treat it as competing computer science projects and invest in the stories you like as if you are a venture capitalist.

Now, I understand what you mean. You know what you're talking about.

Bitcoin is digital gold.

This is a rather meaningless statement*, but I have a better one:

Bitcoin is like your spermcount after you have reached maturity. You make less and less of it and eventually you cease to make it. So use 'them boys' wisely... :)

*Also fans hate** when others bring up Litecoin as digital silver. But if so, then Dogecoin is digital dogshit...

**Who likes competition?

Exactly. Its P/E never made any sense...

What P/E are you talking about? You do know bitcoin is an open source software for a decentralized cryptocurrency? There's no P/E, no CEO, no office, no 800 number.

What P/E are you talking about?

The Pain to Exit ratio, what else? That was really high around the time of Mt. Gox. Before I drive you completely crazy, let me quote from the ET Wiki*:

"Pekelo... he often gets bored and likes to amuse himself pretending to be dumber than he is. He is pretty dull alright, but likes to pretend to be dumbER..."

*before you look, no such a thing
