My g.g.g.grandfather and his uncle enlisted in Maine. My g.g.g. grandfather was only seventeen but he wanted to be with his uncle. The uncle died of cholera a month later in a training camp in New York.

My g.g. grandfather went on with the 21st Maine and he was wounded at Port Hudson, Louisiana and spent two years in a confederate prison camp. He told family members that he survived by eating the undigested oats in the horseshit.

This is what white male privilege looks like sometimes.

You do know that many Jewish people do in fact get reparations payments from Germany since the 1950s that still continue today to the survivors of the Holocaust. I think now about +500 million dollars has been paid out since the 1950s and still counting.

Today there are about +161k remaining survivors still alive and still receiving payments from Germany. Their average age is about 85 years old today.

They are not the only ones too...other ethnic groups, and different races all over the world are receiving reparations. The reparations are either as check payments, land, social benefits, food, fast-track immigration back to their home country, housing, health care, education, and government positions.

A ex-girlfriend (Korean) in the military...her family (parents) were receiving reparations from Japan for the bullshit (murders, tortures, war encampments of civilians) that Japan did to Korea.

It's a fucked up world and she was extremely angry for what Japan did to her parents even though it did not happen to her.

Reparations are the act or process of making amends for a wrong. ACCORDING TO THE UNITED NATIONS: Adequate, effective and prompt reparation is intended to promote justice by redressing gross violations of international human rights law or serious violations of international humanitarian law.
