Should US open economy sooner in May or wait more.

The numbers reported are suspect at best due to differences in what is counted.

The most valid number is excess mortality / excess deaths

So do we have similar to that Brazilian data ?
I googled only history data.
Found one article no data but resume. Excess 31% from population over 60 y.o in five big cities. Well if majority are nursing homes I will not be surprised.
All countries screwed up with NH.

A lot of Europeans countries already partly open for businesses or looking to open.
We have advantage to watch and analyze. We have protesters against open. We have protesters against to stay closed. From one side stay close impact the economy, to open may or may not cause more aggressive covid19 expansion.
What we should do?
All comes to right decision. Dems folks and left wing may tell whatever they want. I’m not protrumper but I can tell you guys. Trump is not stupid. He did it perfect, penalize China for Hong Kong politically but did not kill very Covid sick US economy. Well done, when we recover sooner or later we will make incentives for US corporations to withdraw for CCP China.
No contributions and penalties, just get out. If Europe comes with us fine ;).
