Should the POTUS interfere with FOMC's decision?

Should Trump meddle with monetary policy as he sees fit?

Since when did the majority matter in US elections? You guys have a thing called the electoral college which is why you have a flawed democracy according to the democracy health index.

Now you're starting to piss me off again. If the US election is decided by the popular vote rather than electoral vote, then the states with the most voters (which are New York and California) will decide who will win the race. I don't think Trump will like that idea.

Now, stay the fuk out of the US race and go back to Canada, ya loonie.

Regarding the pic, which currency is there to replace the Dollar?

The winnerz of the next major war will be the obvious contender, or it all breaks up into disarray and regional cooperatives take the place of private banks.

Or, bitcoin fixes this!

Lol loonie. :)

We have Provinces and we manage. The problem is the polarization because you only have 2 competing parties...its a shell game. We have 5 parties that have won federal elections.

Anyone who thinks a Political party should be allowed to use Monetary Policy for their political agenda is fucked in the Head.

Sorta like saying Political parties should have control of the Judiciary for their own Political agenda.

If the majority vote for President Trump, it means the majority feel

POTUS should also be the Fed President/King.

I know you're just an internet opinion aggregator, but this view is actually held by many Trumpers who think he's the god emperer of the United States, and still in charge through some form of continuity of government military order that was switched on during the covid emergency.....

Which is great because pure democracy is stupid. Crack a history book.

I'm glad I live in a constitutional republic with limits on government power.

It's the best system that has ever existed in the history of the world.

the explicit checks and balances and inherent throttling of society so it doesn’t delve into chaos at a rapid rate (though the republicans are trying hard to break this)

I voted yes for POTUS interference.

The way the system is set up now, the chances of the central bank bailing out Wall Street in the next financial crisis is 100%.

If there is POTUS interference, the chances drop to 99%, with the 1% being if POTUS is of the Libertarian party.

I will gladly take the 1% chance, as the probability is now non-zero.

What? Lol you guys don't even have free healthcare.

Hahaha. Only idiot children think health care is "free," perhaps you meant government funded.

Unless you plan to spend your entire life being an unproductive mooch, you're still paying.

I think you're a ranked 17th on the freedom scale behind Latvia. :)

Ooh. Please don't live here then. The last thing we need are more people who think "freedom" has anything to do with the government giving them "free" health care.
