Israel made a surgical strike on a specific target in Iraq, they didn't try to "wipe Iraq off the map" nor did they try to start a war, nor did they kill massive amounts of innocent people and displace millions.

a question: if Iran is sending rockets to the Hezbollah is that an action on Iran's part or are that merely words?
Is that not the same as the Muslims saying that the US is the enemy because they supply Israel? (and then fly some planes into a building)
Now, we can go a step further: China, Russia and North Korea are supplying weapons to anyone who wants to put money down.
Where is the lot going to stop?
Personally I draw the line at active participation: we do not see North Korean soldiers / Russian soldiers or Chinese soldiers involved. But it looks like an Iranian has been send down to take command?

Interesting question Dr. Holmes. The U.S. was supplying arms to Britain for quite some time before our involvement in the second World War yet Germany never declared war on America. I don't believe an arms dealer should be any more culpable for war than a gun manufacturer should be responsible for handgun murders.
This is my distinct worry. IMO both Israel and the U.S. will be at war with Syria and Iran shortly. Either a.) Israel becomes so disproportionate with their continued response in Lebanon that S&I feel compelled to join in or b.) Isreal preemptively goes after S&I bringing the U.S. in on the conflict. I truly think this whole affair is designed for a showdown. America and Israel are much like Leopold and Loeb. Separately neither are killers. Together.......

Unfortunately Iran learned from the Iraq experience and a surgical strike on a specific target in Iran to take out their nuclear facilities may not be feasible. If the objective to destroy Iraqi nuclear capabilities was reasonable and justified then the objective to destroy Iranian facilities is equally correct today. That's the whole proxy war concept, isn't it? The Bush doctrine added a proviso that if you provide a haven for a terrorist group which attacks us, we will hold you equally responsible. Arguably, that is the situation in Lebanon. They let Hezbollah use their territory to attack Israel.
There seems to be considerable evidence that Iran is far more than Hezbollah's arms supplier. If there is enough of a connection to make Hezbollah virtually an arm of the Iranian military, then it seems to me Iran is fair game for Israel.
