Should I panic about my short position on Apple calls?

Good working example of why selling otm near month options is not free money as many believe.
C'mon, you get to keep the premium.

It's the stock position you end up with that hurts :D

Only sell naked options on stocks you're willing to own (or be short)

26 replies offering advice and help and we don't ever hear from this bearman again in over a day. A real slap in the face.

Thanks to ignore, I won't be reading any of his ignorance.

No, that's not the point. The point is his timing: right BEFORE earnings season ?
That is not a good time to be shorting premium.
Met another trader who did the same thing using a GOOG Iron Condor. Lost his shirt after earnings came out.
He thought he was far and wide enough....not to get hurt.

You're absolutely right... infinite loss is a scary thing. I'd be far more fearful of 100 short shares of AAPL going from 450 to INFINITY than 100 long shares going from 450 to ZERO.

BTW, can you name any stocks that have gone to infinity ??

Good points.

And plenty of those that; went ''skyhigh''[l100%,200%,300%,400%,500%]...;
were tek stocks,
tek stocks in a bull market,
tek stocks with strong earnings,
tek stocks that had no earnings.LOL:D Alan Farley's Swing Trader book is full of them,Tek stocks that trend sky high.AAPL,MSFT,Exodus Communication...

Good thing about cutting a loss/ paying an insurance claim;
some get to stay in business that way.

Accidents dont ''just happen''; they are caused;
my insurance co always notes my age, crash history/ claim history, {debt level believe it or not}...Hope this helps.Wisdom is profitable to direct
