Just because there are three options doesn't mean they all mean exclusively different things. Both (b) and (c) are a vote for James to stay, they differ only in their reasons. But in a ballot, reasons don't count. It doesn't matter if you vote for Joe Blow for his policy on the wetlands or because he has a cool hair cut.

i have to agree with longshoe on this one!!!!!!!!! someone needs to start a poll but with only 2 choices...make it clearcut!!!!!
 
On the contrary 'shot. It's you that is failing to comprehend.

The question wasn't "should I stay", it was "should I leave". So anything other than a "yes, you should go" vote should be construed as meaning "no, you should stay".

Anyway, when someone says "no one should leave", why do you think that wouldn't be referring to James too? Did you think they meant "no one but James should leave"?
