I'm under the impression that there is a general correlation between IQ and academic achievement level. Of course, there are always exceptions.

I also know a guy who inherited a fortune spent years getting his Ph.D. and still doesn't have the sense to come in out of the rain.

They are different, but not separate. They are correlated.

And also quite irrelevant for voting. Law abiding American adult citizens should have the right to vote, regardless of education, intelligence, ethnicity, religion, age, race, gender, or other such factors.

Smilingsync refuses to understand that only around 18-20% of Americans have a college degree.

Let me try to explain this without using any of that offending humor that you so despise. Only 20% of Americans have college degrees. Lets say 20% is 60 million. People who have college degrees prefer Obama around 47% and McCain around 42%. So they prefer Obama by about 5%. 5% of 60 million is 3 million.

My points-

1. 3 million more people in the category of college gradaute 's prefer Obama over McCain. Remember college graduates only make up 18% of the nation.

2. Your assuming and generalizing that you can define the education of political affiliation only by looking at 18% of the population. Absurd.

Conclusion- You cannot judge the overall average of anything by only looking at 18% of the thing that your studying. If i was allowed to only look at 18% of a trend i was studying in the stock market i would have no ability to make an informed decision when it comes to executing a trade. The bottom line is that your study is uninformed.
