Should Americans be ashamed of their country for not talking care of their allies in Afghanistan?

Answer to the Question posed by the Thread Title: If we don't do it, Yes. It is still to be decided. But we are fast running out of time.. We nay need to send thousands
of troops back in to protect those that helped us and see that they the get out safely. We know who they are, we can positively identify them, and in many cases we know where they are. And by no means are they all at the Kabul airport! If we don't get these people out and they are eventually rounded up and killed, our desertion of the people will hang like an albatross around our collective neck for years to come. We should spare no effort and no expense to rescue them.
I dunno, I am not aware of any material downside to my life while we're wearing that albatross for what we did in Iraq.

It’s criminal to abandon those who helped and fought alongside our troops. But the question needs to be asked, why in hell didn’t we evacuate everyone before pulling out? What a cluster fuck this has become and now going back in after the fact, our troops are facing an inherently much more dangerous mission.

All you are doing is proving my point. China has a population over a billion, growing industrial strength, and the ability to conscript an army easily bigger then yours. Russia and a few other countries still have ready nuclear weapons. You simply aren't as safe as you think you are, and it's the fact that you DON'T take out other nations that enables you to keep your own nation. Safety in peace is just as important for Americans as it is for many other smaller nations.

Yes you are just strong enough to get yourself into trouble in the wrong hands. The globe doesn't need grandstanding military powers whether it be the US, Russia, or China. Fuck that. As much as we'd like to think you'll behave and understand this, Canada like many nations on the planet will turn on you as a group if you get out of line.

Look this started based on a poster saying this debacle was indicative of declining American power. It’s not. American power is as strong as ever.

I agree we in America need to be more restrained in our use of power. And I get that’s nuanced but it’s also true.

Our U.S. Armed Forces (troops) and capability are as strong as ever.

Trump said today that the military was supposed to evacuate ALL support personnel, contractors and journalists first and the military would be the last to leave. He also said that his plan was to bring back almost all of the vehicles and hardware.

Biden and the General Fucktards decided to abandon that plan and now we have historic chaos.

Repeating a falsehood numerous time doe not make at truth. The US left Afghanistan after a botched operation. Do you think Russia or China of is fearful of American military power? China actions in Hong Kong is a test run for invading Taiwan. The US failed miserably.

Let us now hope we don't lose any American lives in this evacuation disaster.
