shorting through IB - no message if shares not avalable

I agree. We need to add something to make 'stock currently unavailable' identifiable in the pre-market and during the regular trading day.

I'll come back with a solution Monday or Tuesday.

Another suggestion along the same lines...
Used to be a CyberTrader client. When you keyed stock symbol into CT's stock box, the number of shares available to short was listed.

Does IB have any plans to introduce such a facility? Should not be hard to do and would doubtless be appreciated by all active traders.

IB_Salvatore, FYI: when it says "Shortble: 10000" in the link of the link on the above post, it actually means that at least 10000 shares are available for shorts.
