Shorting the Crypto market

How do you short one then if fiat is not part of equation? If I short gold, and it falls in price, I see my unrealized gains in fiat for example.

@RedDuke Your profits/loss are generated in the base currency of your MT5 trading account, which is the crypto that you deposit in. So, BTC, USDT, ETH, LTC, BCH or XRP.

So if you deposit in BTC for example, your deposits, profit and withdrawals are all in BTC.

We have an article that explains how margin and profit is calculated in a crypto base currency account.

Hope it helps, let us know if you need anything else.

my question is how do I short BTC if I need to deposit in BTC?

You can take sell positions on any of the crypto pairs, regardless of your deposit currency.

If I deposit fiat to broker, then borrow an asset and sell it short, I established a real short position. To close position, I need to buy back the asset.

If I deposit BTC with you and not fiat, what am I shorting???????

If btc can stay higher than $67K during tomorrow's stock market trading session, we can expect MSTR to go above $900 per share

Bitcoin is below $67K and MSTR is down, party has been cancelled :D

Will stop the MSTR thread spamming, but in the spirit of the thread title, could be a good opportunity for the bears to short MSTR as proxy for shorting the crypto market :)

HI @RedDuke,

We offer CFD trading, so you don't need to borrow anything first in order to sell it.

You would just open a sell position instead of a buy position, if your speculation is bearish.

You are not technically buying or selling any physical product, you are trading based on price speculation only.

Sorry if we're missing something with the question.

this is what I thought. Not going to work for me as CFDs have way too many issues that I do not want to tackle. I need to short the real asset and so far the only way I was able to find, where I know I will for sure collect, is shorting miners.

Best of luck in your business!
