Short-term trading with Oscar

stealth:

Therefore, do show where I posted between the times you so boldly stated

Come on, you can figure it out -

Simply a time zone problem, my original post should read 9:10-9:30 Eastern to assist those who struggle with the concept of differing time zones in the world.

This happens to be 10:10 to 10:30 in my time zone.

You posted 3 times (in my timezone):

05-01-07 10:24 PM
05-01-07 10:26 PM
05-01-07 10:28 PM

So, my mistake. You were posting one hour before Oscar took his + 7 points in the S&P.

Damn I hate living in East Asia with this +13 hour time difference with NY!!!!!

Another nice day of trading....

another winning day......

Yes indeed, what I still don't understand is that he puts a trade out to take the night before, and then takes the entry or very close to it, but almost always exits before the target gets hit such as today.

Quote from Stealth Trader:

IThe question of why he was unable to make his mortgage payments while trading goes unanswered, yet he wants others to follow his calls under the pretense of "do your own homework," trailed by, "follow my calls and I will make you money."

The fact remains, that after 25 years on the floor, the best he was able to do was "make a living." And since leaving the floor, he was unable to do even that. Speaks volumes.

Where does he state that he can't make his mortgage ?
The fact that he remained there 25 years either means he had really deep pockets or he actually made money. You don't last long in the pit unless you can trade. My guess he was one of the many who was forced to leave the pit as electronic took over and he was not able to transition to the screen trading his own money. Maybe he suffers from " led paws syndrome " and can still make the calls but can't pull the trigger so he has resulted to the website. Borsellino was one of the greatest spoo traders of all time and even he now runs a paid website. What is oscar's true intent ? Only time will tell.

It was printed in NY post or times, can't remember. He didn't deny what they have written, he seemed to be grateful for free publicity, I would have sued their asses if they were to lie.

You sure got that wrong. Here's the point:

Wareco stated that the ES never traded below 1413.50. Never. It was presented as a Perry Mason moment against Oscar and for Wareco. The only problem for Wareco is, at some point, it did trade down. It traded down to 1410 according to the chart I pulled up.

People are so adamant about calling Oscar a charlatan, and several people praised Wareco for raising a valid point, but didn't do the 30 seconds of due diligence it took to find out if what he said was true, or that possibly Wareco might be the liar here.

The real question in my mind is, for what reason? Why are people so dead set against Oscar that they are willing to twist the facts to assassinate his character?

So he's giving away his knowledge for free. What about QuoteTracker? That's free. Do you have the same arguments against those guys? That the slime are only biding their time until they go for pay? Oscar and that team are building some software. It will probably be for pay. Does that mean the educational videos will go away? And do you have any proof, or just that vaunted gut feeling?

All these whatif scenarios is just so much piss in the wind. It is what it is until they change it, and right now, it's free, and the videos and the site seem to be bringing together people who want to learn about trendlines, support and resistance, and pivots. Oscars calls are good, and they are free.

I'm glad you are into making predictions. While you are at it, why don't you try and call some tops and bottoms? Good luck with that.

Quote from wareco:

I realized what a poser "Oscar" was when he claimed on a flash update on his site on March 9th that he had gone long the ES at 1413.50 before the 10 handle jump after NFP number.

The only problem for Oscar was that the ES never traded down to 1413.50. It only traded down to 1413.75. And then only 20+ contracts traded at that level. The buy points he set out in his youtube video for that day was between 1413.5 and 1411.5. The ES never traded down to the buy point.

I pointed this BS out in a comment I posted to his video, and then later the flash update was changed to say he was long at 1413.75. I don't believe that for 1 minute. The ES never traded down to his buy point, and very few contracts even traded at his claimed buy point of 1413.75. He tried to look like a genius after the big run-up.

Quote from Stealth Trader:

Your point being........???? The low when the actual call was made is the issue.

Whatever Oscars long-term intentions are, i'm not bothered. I only know this guy from his vids, but you know what, i like the guy.

Good luck Oscar.

Just checked him out he's a funny guy certainly bright which I need over here in Oz I think I may start watching him.

There are some low lifes who are barely profitable, hanging onto their last pant threads, who think that if one more person "out there" becomes profitable, that's less "opportunity" for them. Outsized ego meets pea brain. I've met a few in my trading career. The last one was a geeky pimple faced college drop out who thought he was the reincarnation of Einstein. He blew up once his holy grail stopped working.

I am not sure what exactly happened, as far as I understood Wareco's post price did not register that specific entry price at the time when Oscar happened to be long, whatever price it went down to afterwards has no meaning as it took place after the trade. OK, it could be a typo, I recall when he posted daily recs on Gold and price was like $200 off what it was trading at that time, I see math typos in most of my solicitor's sums due, perhaps they make mistakes intentionally, bastards.
