the difference is based solely on the weightings of AAPL in each index.

so, you're just saying buy AAPL outright.
 
If you were to chart out the price difference between the SPY less an equally weighted QQQ, then you'd basically be looking at a chart that points up.... and you want to step in front of that momentum why?
