Short Memories at Goldman

Quote from the1:

Exactly. The international community equates the will of the American Government with the will of American Citizens, and that couldn't be farther from the truth.

The dumbing down of the populace has not been an exclusive American or British phenomenon anymore sadly enough.

let me suggest a view that is represented by a lot other outsiders: Its the very snake oil marketing techniques coming out of the US that pisses others off. Nothing the US is doing is out of selfless motivation yet US representatives seem to be the best at marketing shit for gold nuggets. Most simply dont appreciate getting offered shit wrapped in candy gift wrapping. Thats one of the biggest issues in my opinion...

Quote from Gummivogel:

one quote explains the natural consequences of internationalism, 'diversity', immigration and multiculturalism

"Familiarity breeds contempt"

meaning, the more the USA gets involved in the world, the more we open up our country to others, the less people will respect us and the more they will hate us

it's a saying that's been around for hundreds of year - becasue it always has been, and always will be, true

you may make it a little too easy to yourselves. In good times you proudly wave the flag and in bad times the biggest evil is your own government? I dont buy into it, sorry...

Can you give an example?

just curious, but how would you really know, if you're in asia?

what's written in the media, and what citizens really say and think are very far apart

claiming the invasion into Iraq or the involvement in the whole of the middle east is to secure peace in the region and to liberate people ;-)

Or that Lenders to you and your country will ever be repaid 100 cents on the dollar...which may actually happen but what you forget to mention is the value of the dollar by then...

more examples...?

There you go falling into the stereotypical trap. What you see on your country's nightly news is often far from the case. Our media presents the popluation in the Middle East as nothing but terrorists, as though the entire continent is a terrorist state. You rarely get to see the parts of the Middle East that are prospering but that doesn't mean parts of the region don't prosper.

israel wanted it, and the media is run by jews and the military industrial complex (NBC owned by GE)

every sunday morning program at the time was basicly, 'for a diversity of opinion, here's our roundtable jews from a variety of media outlets'

people were 95+ percent against the bailout, but the media was for it and it happened agains the will of the people

nearly all of 'free trade' was against the will of the people and it happened anyway

you think the citizen is for illegal immigration?!?!?!?!

almost everything big for the last 20 years was agaisnt the will of the citizen

it is no benefit to the citizen to be a 'superpower' when he has no say in what it does

Quote from fkbsuhites:

George Bush and Paulson's "too big to fail" hubris is the beginning of the end of Wall Street.

With their republican protectors running at less than 20% public support...

unconditional socialism for the well connected and crooked wealthy.

profound conclusions and statements....

profound....

WS ended in 2008 - 2009, with the collapse before the inaugeration began in 2009

just think of all those millions in collegiate degrees, books, studies, projects, tests and students waiting in line fore the MBA's and BBA's just to join in the minions of wall street, now having no where to go...

all that waste....

whom do we have to thank for that?, hmmmm

Nope. I just wanted to get a feel for your thoughts. You are right on cue.
