Short Inventory on IB

Any updates with regard to fixing the shorting issue? I tried shorting the SPY as recently as Wednesday afternoon (June 14) and received the "We currently have 0 shares of SPY available for short sale." message.

I hope IB moves this issue to the top of their list (ie., it becomes urgent) because it's not just a minor annoyance, it is a major problem (especially for the big ETFs - SPY, QQQQ, DIA, etc.)

Patch went in last night (late). I think it should be OK now (it worked for me). Please PM me if you find otherwise.

what is your point ? if it is unborrowable early in the day it is still only a possibility not a given that it will be borrowable later.

Still no short inventory for OIH, instead of saying 0 shares, it is showing 6 shares.

There really isnt any available at IB (6 shares only).

Better off shorting ES, NQ, and YM futures... Better margins, don't have to worry about borrow, don't have to worry about buy ins, etc.
