LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The number of British workers claiming government jobless benefits fell a seasonally adjusted 6,300 in November to 1.63 million, or 5% of the workforce, the Office for National Statistics reported Wednesday. It was the first decline since February 2008. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the three months to the end of October was 7.9%, unchanged from the three months to the end of July, and the total number of unemployed people rose 21,000 to 2.49 million, the ONS said. Economists had been expecting a November adjusted claimant rate of 5.1%

Mus be magic in a country where the top tax rate is rising up to 50 %...

50% will only apply to the few earning over £150,000 a year.
Majority pays 20-30% on average.
What bother me more is 50% tax on bonuses above 25k.

anybody thinks we visit 5920 today?

given the placement of my stop, i certainly hope not! a piercing of the 52 week high then failure scenario is where my money is right now. hope i'm right, but much will depend on the US data and then the fed during after hours trading.

btw, this lack of correlation to the ES is killing me today. when the ES was at this level earlier, DAX was >20 points lower. ugghh.

That's why I comented lately in the Mini S&P / DAX correlation thread that it is not always an easy game. But I suggest that some players noticed USD strenght or better said : EUR weakness...

FTSE +0.65 %

Quite an irritating picture...

yeah, i was the DAX's bitch yesterday- all day . today's another day, or so i hope...

looking for the gap to be filled but very cautious. The Dax has been very strong over the last 2 days and I'm not convinced by the US futures down this morning.
I'd rather short if we were back in the 5920 zone and even there I would be cautious. We're entering a period with thin liquidity.
