For your interest in German language :

Noch halten Unternehmen ihre Beschäftigten

Arbeitgeberpräsident Dieter Hundt geht davon aus, dass nur bei einem „baldigen deutlichen Anziehen der Konjunktur“ die Auswirkungen der Produktionsausfälle auf den Arbeitsmarkt „weiterhin in Grenzen“ gehalten werden. Volkswirte warnen bereits vor dem Herbst.

Another day another bad earning.

like the CNBC presenter puts it "all in all the rally is expected to continue"

I think the DAX is a bigger ponzi than even the Nasdaq, the nasdaq compainies are "reporting profit" and have cash.

President Barack Obama said Thursday he expects data due out Friday morning about gross domestic product will show that the economy contracted in the second quarter. However, Obama said recent economic indicators show that the economy has "stepped away from the precipice" and that fears about a depression have abated. But job losses are still "a huge problem," Obama said. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch are expecting growth to decline by 1.2%, annualized, in the second quarter.

:p :D :)

I am thankful to every German mutual fund manager contributing to this rally. Always good to have some professional bag holders on board. :p

It is always good to trade with the trend.
I need another 2-3 weeks of flat or up and I'm happy.

This argument about fund managers have to buy to save face, dont u think is calling them fools.

Is there any rule or law that say they cant keep clients money in cash if they think mkt is running on air

Every fund has its decision making body, normally a handful of people, who decide after "thoroughly discussing the prevailing market situation" to enter or exit markets.

They have to keep records about their decisions and will state the upcoming "brighter economic picture" ( I love this expression !) has led to an entry in certain markets.

:p

Here is DWS Investments ( 100 % daughter of Deutsche Bank ) assessment on current outlook :

DWS active Markets
June / July 2009
Mixed economic data put a stop to the runaway rally on Europe‘s stock exchanges in June. Find out why the emerging markets could outperform the established equity markets.

The IMF hit the headlines with its report that the global economy is emerging from the crisis more quickly than forecast, and there was an unexpected rise in German industrial output, but the DAX failed to find its feet. Are the stock markets out of touch with reality? This response is not unusual, because equity markets trade in future events. The rally we saw in the equity markets from March onward had already factored in expectations - including the expectation of an upturn in the global economy from the third quarter onward.

Encouraging Signs

Even though there are positive signs from time to time, the crisis will cause major economies such as Germany and the US to shrink during the year. However, the situation in the emerging markets is different. Growth rates are rising and the prospects for the economy in this sector are improving. The clearest signs are in China, where the government is investing billions in combating the impact of the economic and financial crisis, more than virtually any other country. So it‘s no surprise that the Chinese economy sprang back to life again some time ago. In the first few months of 2009 China imported record amounts of iron ore and coal, and it is one of the few countries that have increased their steel production this year. A sharp rise in retail sales of consumer goods is another sign that the Chinese economy is recovering, but China does not have exclusive rights to good news. Read on to find out why investors should focus more strongly on the Indian equity market once more, and why DWS fund managers favor cyclically sensitive stocks over defensive sectors in Europe.

Unbelievable ? Well, this week we had just confirmation that just everything is just fine in Germany. People still keeping their job. Some people on reduced hours but then much better then expected earnings. Of course nobody is talking about the government's direct influence on earnings. Car makers without government help ? Other industry groups without government help ? Just wait after the elections in Germany ! All of a sudden people will be laid off. Companies going bankrupt. Just a matter of time.
