sometimes I'm lucky as well..

I try to avoid trading dax during Us session. As nvl7 said before it behaves weird compared to ES.

I think it could be to do with a present divergence on 60 minute chart in DAX (not on ES), midpoint in divergence is around 7920. I understand the frustration though as this is not very typical p/a of DAX, is it?

Not too certain, but looks like upside breakout of pennant has better odds.

ImO and that's why I opened a swing long is we have a W with a confirmation on multi-hour charts, bearish trendline's been broken and we could be at the start of reversal to a current retracement. Obviously I hold no grail on this, this is just a historically tested pattern which is a classic bullish sign even without having to refer to an indicator. That is a pure chart based opinion, no fundamental reasoning.
