yes, I see it that can be a cause of break or pull back. However, I see that market was not rallying in a "consistent way".
FDAX is a bit behind ... and some part of the numbers can be already in.

I entered 3x into dax with some protective puts, :-), and 3x I felt unconfortable and end up flat at the end of day.

I'm wondering do you expect ifo below 1.5%?

Starbucks, Yahoo, Apple, Bernanke and DAX is hoovering around 5110, maybe there will be Asian support and we open in 20-30, DAX can go below 5080 but can also break 5200 tomorrow, target 5300, next target 5800.

so far the mkt has responded favourably to earnings beating expectation without regards for how the company did it.

Stoxx 600 has more compainies missing, yet european mkts have kept on rising.

why do u think 5800 is not a possible in this kind of mad rush mkt.

Of course 5800 is too optimistic!

Today, it was quite funny how market reacted to ifo. I was short at 5073, it went down a bit too but covered at the right time 5072, :-).

Otherwise, some loss on SMI and profit on FTSE.

OK, they earned 10% less than last year.
You have to consider that they repaid tarp (10bn). Govn made 23% on GS tarp so that if it is similar for MS then it is already 2bn.
They spent too much on compensation, maybe redundancy packages (0.8bn).

In my opinion, it is a management problem they have (as in many banks), they could save few bns with better management and be reasonably profitable.

Shareprice is 27, if 150mn loss is -1.36 EPS then 1bn profit is 7$ EPS.
It seems that H1 tells more about the crisis then H2.

Short GS and long MS ... :-)

Loking forward to Commerz, DB earning report.

Short GS and long MS ? Not a bad idea. But I will wait for another lag in GS before entering short.
