Police have been unable to make any arrests connected with the shootings and other spates of violence over the holiday weekend.
Despite the deluge of shootings and other violent crimes, Mayor Rahm Emanuel congratulated the city's public safety agencies for making fewer arrests at the city's festivals.
Police are looking for information in helping to identify this man, who is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing
He said: 'I commend the Cityââ¬â¢s public safety agencies and employees for their efforts to make this yearââ¬â¢s event the safest in recent memory.'
In Baltimore, a child was shot in the leg and a man stabbed to death at the Inner Harbour after the city's fireworks display.
As the fireworks kicked off and America the Beautiful was played, a fight unfolded on the promenade and minutes later a four-year-old walking nearby with his parents was shot. Police believe it was from a stray bullet.
Authorities are currently interviewing a person of interest in the fatal stabbing of the 26-year-old man.
In Indiana, police are investigating three shootings that injured two teenagers in the down town area in the early hours of this morning.
One 17-year-old was shot in the foot and the other - also 17 - was shot in the lower back.
In Jacksonville, a 19-year-old and his 16-year-old brother were shot after the fireworks in Monday.
One of the brothers survived.
The brothers were said to have been watching a fight when someone involved pulled out a gun and began shooting.
In Boston, eight people were shot, four of them fatally over the holiday weekend.
It culminated in a particularly violent week in the city when there were more than a dozen shootings.
In Atlantic City, two people were shot dead outside a casino early tuesday morning. According to police, it started out as a fight between 15 people. An an officer attempted to break it up someone pulled out a gun and started to shoot.
A 17-year-old and 22-year-old male were wounded but not believed to be critical.
In Alabama, a teenager was grazed in the face by a bullet early this morning during a group fight in down town Mobile.
Police say the shot was fired during a fight outside a teen dance party at a down town club.
In Milwaukee, police are investigating reports that a number of teens looted several stores and then beat up passers by shortly after the fireworks ended.
There were also two armed robberies in the area.
