what has this got to do with anything? I presented the original post because I suspected many of us know sex can bring us closer to God.

I have no idea why your are talking about masterbation, porn, celibacy and monasteries not be becoming brothels.

I don't think Paul has any problems with sex when it is not immoral.
Finally, I suspect institutional celibacy has led to many of the problems the priesthood of the Catholic church suffers.

If celibacy is good for you all great. But, in my opinion I can tell you right now it created a vacuum in the priesthood which was filled by sick people and far too many people who did not have the moral courage to stop it. Hopefully things have improved.

Didn't you read saint Augustin enormous book "the Confessions of Saint Augustin" where he reflects on
celibacy vs marriage and the role of sex?
