Seth Tobias RIP

Quote from flytiger:

Teachers don't get paid, but Wall st., gay bars, drugs....... mom and pop won't like this.

There is going to be a brutal bear, and if the system is going to survive, it has to look totally different. It's out of hand.

sorry to rain on your parade, but mom&pop don't invest in hedge funds.

Quote from Rearden Metal:

Speaking of which, Richard Dennis doesn't even try to hide his penchant for the man-ass.

Anyways, why the hell would a good looking 44 year old guy worth $25 mil want to be married to some high-maintenance scheming divorce' his own age, instead of a hot young piece of ass? Well, it all makes sense if she's just his 'beard'.

(*Beard: The wife/girlfriend of a gay man, kept to conceal his gayness.)

Incidentally, putting my money with Seth Tobias & Richard Dennis turned out to be two of my worst ever investment decisions. I put half a mil in Circle T in 2000 or 2001, and got back just $482,000 when I pulled out in July of '04. The Dennis Fund did even worse- I lost over 50% of my $200,000 investment when Dennis blew up in autumn of '99. Maybe I should stay away from fund managers of questionable straightness.
That's pretty brutal RM. I seriously doubt their gayness had anything to do with the funds performance (or lack thereof) ... oh, I know, why don't you give your loot to some straight guy who's siphoning off funds so he can pay for his mistress? :p

Just joking wicha, you really shouldn't give your money to any of these guys, but I'm sure you already know that.

Quote from Cutten:

Why would he want to be married at all?

Single trader celebration after a big up day: champagne, blow and sluts. Total cost, maybe $50k per annum.

Married trader celebration after a big up day: bad Chardonnay, changing nappies, and being whined at over his porn collection. Total cost: $1.25 million per annum (assuming 1 divorce per decade, costing half the $25 mill net worth)

LOL ! I suppose that´s the "unromantic, realistic, down-to-earth" point of view...:D :D :D

Right. But you get enuf of them pissed off, the politicians llisten to them. Hedge Funds run, and brokers sell to, those huge pools of money in government that are now being decimated, and you, Surf, will have to help bail out. That's the battle. The everyday guy has to lose his pension so he sees he has a stake in cleaning up this brothel.

I, unfortunatly, have become very aware of the political system in the past several years. I'm dreaming of the good ole days of the Soviet Union. Sort of the, "yeah, it sucks, your dad is in prison, but you know what you're dealling with."

ok.

what you need to keep in mind is for every press worthy wild child in the HF business, there are multiples who live quiet, conservative lives. it's the same for any big money business, only the wild ones make the news.

best wishes,

Oh, I fully agree. Dr. Byrne told us that, while he was cancelled at a speech a year ago, now, fully 50 to 60% of the hedgies are now on his side. That was for the PIPEs conference. Unfortunately, the bad ones kill a lot of folks, a disporportionate number.

In the famous words of Worm: "Women are the rake in life".

But it's definitely not all bad.
