You raise good points. I concluded he picked Sessions because he was an obvious sycophant. I think Trump is totally convinced he is a wonderful person and all his ideas, even if fleeting, are wonderful. So why not reward people who recognize that. Of course Trump doesn't realize he (Trump) has a mental disorder.

He was probably Trump's first big name supporter. You may think he is a joke but he has a huge fan club. He's as close to untouchable as any appointee.
It's amazing how the left can dig in huh? I bet you never thought this possible right? I did not. Trump will either give up at some point, suffer a heart attack or cardiac arrest or go insane. And purely because he gets close to nothing done for the rest of his term. So far he accomplished next to nothing.
Trump has:
-put a supreme court justice in place
-closed on $400 billion sale to the Saudis
-put more than a hundred Federal Court judges in place
-reversed a ton of regulations on small businesses
-put the Federal Gov in charge of the southern border
-ran a lot of criminals out of the country
I know that much and I'm barely paying attention

-put a supreme court justice in place (a vacant position he simply named and others decided to choose, none of which is Trumps accomplishment)
-closed on $400 billion sale to the Saudis (he armed a terror state from which a majority of deadly terrorists hailed from and that suppresses human rights and women's rights the most in the world)
-put more than a hundred Federal Court judges in place (with still hundreds of vacant positions in his own administration long into his term)
-reversed a ton of regulations on small businesses (none of which actually benefit small business nor normal people of average income, called middle class)
-put the Federal Gov in charge of the southern border (with no decrease in human nor drug trafficking)
