Series 7 inactivity

I'm going to prop trade 6-8 months. I have a sponsor and could I go ahead and take the Series 7 now and get it out of the way and keep it even though I won't begin trading or employed in 8 months? Thanks!

Yes....as long as you are associated wiht a firm your 7 is good, regardless if you are trading or not
 
Even if you are initially registered and then leave the firm your license will be good for two years. Until you have to take continuing education.
