Series 3 Exam (Natl Commodity Futures Exam)

Quote from ElectricSavant:

by the way... there is a bank of tests and you do not get to know the correct answers of the ones you got wrong...

there is only about three options questions... thank gawd...

The questions for any given exam are randomly chosen from a larger bank of questions. The number of questions in each subject area are fixed but the subcategories can be imbalanced, so you may have a completely different sample from the next guy.

One thing I didn't like was having the same question repeated...I had two questions on my exam that were duplicates...as long as you get it right it's fine.

What does "formerly registered rep" mean?
Does it mean you have S-7 before, but expired?

Yes, after two years of not working for a broker/dealer your Series 7 expires.

I took and passed the Series 7 in preparation for a summer job during college as a broker. It would have involved a lot of cold calling that didn't sound so pleasant, so as summer approached I took a job with the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria, VA, instead.

Already as an undergrad, even though I was in physics, my interest lie with the markets. Eventually, after getting a Masters in particle physics, I took a job with Monroe Trout developing trading strategies.
