I doubt there is any free material available that will replace the material you can buy. I studied the Dearborn book with CD a long, long time ago and found that book to be pretty good. It had a few mistakes but overall it was decent.
There were a lot of questions on hedging, a lot on Regulations, a few on options, and not a single question on the test I took on technical analysis. The exam changes constantly so the make up will be different. I didn't think the test was really that hard but you do have to study for it because the commodities and futures markets are a completely different beast than the equity markets.
Good luck on the exam!
