Senator questions, prods Microsoft on inclusion of H-1B workers in layoffs

Quote from swtrader:

you said "U.S. workers are lazy. We should let unlimited Indians in since they are more productive. Why else would Microsoft want them?"

you dont seem very loyal to anywhere, unless you're indian

I ain't loyal to shit. In my opinion, Indians are brilliant programmers and engineers and Hispanics are very hard workers. There are also some Americans that are extremely hard workers, but there is a lot of them which do not pull their weight and are always looking for handouts rather than work.

What we should do in this country is deport all the people who refuse to work and are looking for government handouts and import anyone who wants to work hard to make a better life for their family.

"Indians are brilliant programmers and engineers "

"What we should do in this country is deport all the people "

I've got a better idea - how about deporting disloyal ASSHOLE immigrants like YOU, who come into our society and slander the people who were kind enough to let you in?

"I ain't loyal to shit."

you're scum, and i predict that wherever your sorry ass ends up, there will be mutual dislike between yourself and the people around you

The beauty with American finance is that we somehow managed to pull the world. If the united States goes down, the rest of the world is going to fall, harder.

Yes, that's true, the American's have been pulling the rest of the world down. They have been a drag on the rest of the world's economy by consuming so much and producing so little. The rest of the world will realize that they have been wasting all their time and resources making things for the United States and getting only paper dollars in return. Once they stop doing that, they can redirect their factories towards making things for themselves and building up their own economy.

up until xp, there was improvement

anything prior crashed at least once a day, blowing away whatever work you hadnt saved

vista is classic H-1b code

bloatware, that works poorly

an up-degrade

Was it Canadian H1B's that produced Vista? If that's the case, I'd like to take back my request for America to send them back here to Canada. Maybe we could send them to work on the computers close to the frontlines in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Ive read 4 different threads today. all the discussions end up with stupid canadians talking about how great thier country is and how US sucks. its getting really irritating. why do all the freakin canadians have inferiority complex. Ive never met a canadian who doesnt complain about US. where as no one in US cares anything about canada. I dont know a single person who wants to move to canada from here. last couple of years it used to be aussies and europeans who used to do this crap. theyve become less vocal but the damn canucks are really irritating.

let me guess all the other economies in the world are pure and highly productive. The reason the world economy interacts with the U.S. is because they are being kind to their beloved U.S. friends and now they are being repaid with our crises.

grow up.

I think employers prefer the H1-B's because they are captives. The employers sponsor them in some citizenship fashion, if the worker quits, he /she can't just go get another job. To me they are scabs elbowing Americans out of plum jobs..
It's all related to making more profits for american corporations by weakening the worker. Is it sustainable? No, it might even be over. Now these corporations are all moving to sell to the strong growth markets.

I'm so sorry if you're referring to any of my comments. I only intended to have an interesting and educational discussion, not to offend any Americans, Canadians or other nationalities. As a matter of fact, a lot of my opinions come from an American who I believe knows more about the economy than anyone I've ever met in Canada:
